This single storey rear extension added 38sqm of living space to a mid-terrace Victorian home in Islington. The design centred on a full-width open-plan kitchen-diner flooded with natural light from three large roof lanterns and 4-panel aluminium bi-fold doors opening onto a newly landscaped rear garden. A structural steel frame allowed the removal of the existing rear wall, creating a seamless connection between the original reception room and the new extension. Underfloor heating, polished concrete flooring, and a handleless kitchen with quartz worktops completed the contemporary finish.
